ERE x Sheriff Gallery is delighted to present ET LOVER RE VOL T E, a solo exhibition by Marisca Voskamp–Van Noord, invited by Sophie Strobele.
The exhibition brings together a selection of new works, among them the video Observation note 6.536: I am on holiday everyday, I live in my dream, the most recent pieces from her long-term project Building Archives of Moments, and a group of sculptural works that expand her visual language into three dimensions.
For Voskamp, every work is an act of attention. Over the past two decades, her practice has evolved into an ongoing investigation of perception, embodiment, and the micro-temporal structures of daily life. Through photography, video, and installation, she constructs constellations of images that reflect a living archive, a breathing organism that registers the intervals between seeing and being.
In ET LOVER RE VOL T E, the gallery itself becomes a Gesamtkunstwerk, a total environment where space and work fuse into a single gesture. The title, composed of rearranged letters, reads simultaneously as lover, revolt, and revelation, a play on reversal and re-creation. The exhibition operates as a site-specific manifestation in which fragments of lived time, collected through her observation notes, come together as an experiential field.
Voskamp’s video Observation note 6.536 serves as both anchor and manifesto. Text and image unfold in rhythm with the breath: I breathe in, I breathe out, I breathe out the spirit. The artist’s voice reflects on humanity’s dialogue with the machine, on the circle as a form that contains both beginning and end. What emerges is a meditation on the act of living without an agenda, of remaining within the present moment: I am on holiday every day, I live in my dream.
The presentation extends beyond the boundaries of medium or duration. As a two-week exhibition, ET LOVER RE VOL T E can itself be seen as a temporal sculpture, a living organism that embodies Voskamp’s philosophy of the in-between: a place where observation becomes existence.
